Ladies – Empower Self!!

GIRLS / LADIES – “Empower Yourself: A Manifesto for Intentional Growth and Self-Worth”

I recently attended a G4G graduation – Project Girls For Girls (G4G) believes that every girl has the potential to lead. It is a mentorship program to empower young women with the courage, vision and skills needed to take on leadership. G4G helps women achieve their ambitions through provisioning access to professional mentorship, skills-based tools, and a global network of female leaders.

Below are lessons I picked from the key speakers.

  1. Know your Worth:
Understanding your value is the cornerstone of self-empowerment. Seanice advocates for intentional growth, reminding us that recognizing our worth is the first step towards a purposeful life.
  2. Try Anyway, Always Give It a Shot:
this mantra echoes the importance of resilience. Regardless of the challenges, the key is to try, to give it a shot. After all, growth often lies just beyond our comfort zones.
  3. Negotiations Start with you:
Take charge of your life and assert yourself. Negotiate for what you deserve, be it in your career, relationships, or personal pursuits. It all begins with you.
  4. Invest in your Information Gathering Years:
Google Podcasts, YouTube, and other platforms are treasure troves of knowledge. Use them to invest in your information-gathering years. Learning is a lifelong journey.
  5. Grow Your Village:
Surround yourself with positive influences. Build a supportive network that encourages growth, learning, and shared success. Your village can be a powerful source of inspiration and guidance.
  6. Get into Rotaract:
Joining organizations like Rotaract provides not only networking opportunities but also a platform to contribute to your community. It’s a chance to grow personally while making a positive impact.
  7. Inner Guidance- intuition.
Seek guidance and mentorship, but also trust your instincts. Your inner guidance, as coined here, plays a crucial role in decision-making.
  8. Reach Out to People you Want to Connect With:
Be intentional about the connections you make. Engage with people who align with your values and goals. Quality over quantity, always.
  9. Nothing Should Arrive Before You Do:
Be mindful and sensitive in your interactions. Prioritize your well-being, ensuring that you are fully present and engaged in every situation.
  10. Don’t Be Patronized:
Stand tall and confident. Refuse to be patronized or looked down upon. Hold your head high and demand the respect you deserve.
  11. Always Have Options:
Remember, you are never boxed into a corner. Options abound, and it’s up to you to explore and choose the path that aligns with your values and aspirations.
  12. Know your Values:
Clearly define your values and let them guide your decisions. Knowing what truly matters to you provides a compass for navigating life’s twists and turns.
  13. Read About Great People:
Seek inspiration from the stories of great individuals who have walked similar paths. Their journeys can offer insights and lessons that resonate with your own.
  14. Do It Afraid:
Fear should not be a roadblock but rather a steppingstone. Embrace discomfort and uncertainty, for growth often happens on the edge of fear.
  15. Not to Be Patronized, Stand Your Ground:
Reinforcing the importance of self-respect, stand firm in your beliefs. Refuse to be patronized or condescended to. Your opinions and contributions matter.
  16. Talk to People Who Matter About What Matters to you:
Engage in meaningful conversations with those who hold significance in your life. Share your thoughts, dreams, and concerns with those who genuinely care.
  17. The Power is Within you:
Embrace your own power. You have the strength to shape your destiny and overcome any challenges that come your way.
  18. Formal Employment – Speak Up:
In the workplace, don’t hesitate to voice your opinions and ideas. Your insights are valuable, and speaking up is a crucial step towards personal and professional growth.
  19. Be Ready to Take Up Positions of Leadership:
Leadership opportunities often arise unexpectedly. Be prepared to step up, take charge, and lead with confidence.
  20. It’s Okay to Put Self-First:
Self-care is not selfishness. Prioritize your well-being and understand that taking care of yourself allows you to better contribute to the world around you.
  21. Networking.
Networking on professional platforms like LinkedIn expands your opportunities. Connect with organizations and individuals aligned with your goals, such as adding Girls4Girls (G4G) to your network.
  22. Be Very Unapologetic:
Unapologetically embrace who you are. Your uniqueness is your strength. Be confident, be bold, and own your narrative.

Till next time, keep growing and glowing.
